The first thing I would like to mention is… RAIN, THUNDER & LIGHTENING did not stop the show for hundreds of patrons at the 2013 Atlanta Food & Wine Festival. Including myself… 🙂 This was a weekend getaway treat for mamma and NOTHING was going to stand in my way of enjoying all the delicious food & spirits.
Oh yes, it got a little hectic when the floodgates opened but thank goodness it didn’t last very long. The festivities kept moving and the sun peeked out in no time.
AF&WF showcased a slew of top chefs including Chef Norman Van Aken, owner of NORMAN’S at the Ritz-Carlton, Grande Lakes and co- author of “My Key West Kitchen”. Chef Van Aken & his beautiful family came all the way from Florida to introduce the Conch Culture. They were extremely friendly & kind and it was a pleasure meeting them.
The exclusive Connoisseur Lounge located at the Loews Atlanta Hotel, created by award-winning Atlanta designer, William Peace, suited for socializing, eating, drinking and participating in private food and beverage classes.
I have a confession to make… Trying to enjoy my experience and capture images was a little overwhelming. There were at least 100 to 200 vendors and I just couldn’t visit them all in just a few hours. I will definitely plan for a three day visit next year. Oh well, enjoy the few photos I managed to snap while licking my fingers. 🙂
