Earlier this week, I was invited to attend the 43rd Annual Thurgood Marshall Judicial Awards Luncheon at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis presented by the National Bar Association (NBA). The room was filled with honorable judges including Judge Glenda Hatchett and Judicial Council Chair Denise Langford Morris.
Mayor Kasim Reed received the 2014 Civil Liberties Award and also served as the keynote speaker for the day. It was very touching to hear the testimonies from all of the awards recpients (lawyers) who have practiced for 40 years or more and have made significant contributions to the legal profession. So much history stored in each of them and I was honored to be there. 🙂
The luncheon was part of the NBA’s 89th Annual Convention and Exhibits where attendees participated in a variety of forums, symposiums, and series: Corporate Leadership, Energy, Health, Civil Litigation and Small Firms/Solo Practitioners geared to address the unique challenges and issues faced by legal professionals at work in these areas.
Enjoy the pics I snapped!
