I’ve decided not to cover the 2015 Essence Festival this year… so if you’re like me, you are looking for tons of “4th of July” family fun happening in Atlanta. Right?? Of course there’s the ever so popular AJC Peachtree Road Race. I ran this race back in 2010 and did 6.2 miles in 55 minutes! I hung up my hat after that. LOL!
Here’s a few events that caught my eye 🙂
July 4, 6 PM – 10 PM at Lenox Square Mall
On Friday, July 3rd from 5:00pm to 10:00pm, come into Davio’s and get pre-race ready with a Carbo-Loaded dinner. All guests with a valid AJC Peachtree Road Race number will receive 25% off any pasta entrée!
Fireworks at Stone Mountain Park
Celebrate in red, white and blue at the best place in Atlanta to see fireworks FOUR nights in a row. Atlanta’s largest Fourth of July celebration explodes with excitement at Stone Mountain Park with the Fantastic Fourth Celebration. The thrills begin with the Lasershow Spectacular™ and culminate with a breathtaking fireworks display.
The Lasershow and fireworks are free. Please come early and prepare for large crowds.
Vehicle entry to the park is $15 for a one-day permit or $40 for an annual permit.DATES: July 2-5 TIMES: 10:30 a.m. – 8 p.m. Lasershow and fireworks 9:30 p.m.

The purpose of the Atlanta Happenings segment is to share my bulletin board of Atlanta scene, cultural and family fun invites from various local outlets. Many of the events are not on the “mainstream circuit” so I do my best to keep you in the know and to help others promote their projects.
