Atlanta Jazz Festival: The Mayor’s Summer Reading Program, Publix KidZone and More!

We are excited to announce tons of fun & learning activities for kids at the 2016 Atlanta Jazz Festival including The Mayor’s Summer Reading Program, Publix KidZone and the Dragon Goal Soccer Experience.  I’ve always loved this music festival and can’t wait to take my boys for this awesome experience Memorial Day Weekend May 27-29 at Piedmont Park.

 

publixPublix KidZone hours are as follows: Friday, May 27 from 6-8 pm; Saturday, May 28 from 11 am-7 pm and Sunday, May 29 from 11 am to 7 pm. Activities also include face painting, balloon twisting and jump roping. The Atlanta Jazz Festival and the Publix KidZone are free and open to the public.

The Mayor’s Summer Reading Club will participate this year with special interactive book reading sessions on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 pm. Each child from birth to eight years old attending the book reading events will be given the gift of a book.  The Mayor’s Summer Reading Club is a collaboration between the City of Atlanta, the Georgia Early Education Alliance for Ready Students (GEEARS), PNC Bank, the United Way of Greater Atlanta and other partnerships across the city.

Dragon Goal Soccer Experience  Dragon Goal’s mission is to foster more opportunities to play soccer, develop skills, engage with one another, and become respectful players for life! With Dragon Goal, players can focus on technical skills and experience a small-sided field, fast-paced game in a contained environment that maximizes ball control frequency while delivering happiness.

Dragon Goal USA is a Georgia-based company established to energize and strengthen the practice of soccer in the United States. Their goal is to use their portable Dragon Goal soccer fields to activate private and public spaces, to connect people and communities from all walks of life, embracing soccer as a vehicle to get engaged in healthy athletic programs which also promote social skills, respect and team building attitudes.
