I can’t keep up with all the wonderful events celebrating Black History Month! Last night, ‘Black-ish’ Star Yara Shahidi attended “Black History: Our Image, Our Media, Our Legacy” at Helen Mills New York City. Presented by Omnicom Media Group and BOUNCE TV… guest enjoyed a cocktail reception and discussion on diversity in television.
The event included a keynote speech by Martin Luther King III, a “Why Diversity Matters” presentation by “Black-ish” actress Yara Shahidi and a panel moderated by broadcast journalist Ed Gordon featuring Tiffany R. Warren (SVP Chief Diversity Officer for Omnicom Group, Founder and President of ADCOLOR), Dabo Che (Executive Creative Director at Spike DDB), Marissa Nance (Director, Multicultural Content Marketing & Strategic Partnerships – OMD USA), Len Burnett (CEO, Uptown Magazine), Roger Bobb (CEO, Bobbcat Films) and Shahidi. Omnicom Media Group’s Associate Director of Diversity & Inclusion Rosa J. Nunez welcomed guests, while BOUNCE TV’s EVP of Sales Elverage Allen emcee’d the program.
Special guests included Ryan Glover (President, BOUNCE TV), Jonathan Katz (COO, BOUNCE TV), Page Thompson (CEO, North America, Omnicom Media Group), Gianluca Baglioni (CFO, North America, Omnicom Media Group), Barbara Burger (CFO, OMD USA) and Doug Melville (Chief Diversity Officer, North America, TBWA).
