Sometimes I just have to pinch myself because of all the cool things that come with my JOB. Doing what I love, getting paid for it… AND being on the Atlanta scene for Macy’s Black History Month celebration with the beautiful Jurnee Smollett Bell and Taye Diggs was the point of no return for me. What do I mean by this…?? Yesterday was the first time I really believed in the fruits of my labor.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been “hired and trusted” to captured some AMAZING moments with lead actors, movie tours, fabulous photo shoots and red carpets. I’ve been going behind the scenes with ground breaking television shows like How to Get Away With Murder and Grey’s Anatomy… truly living my dream. Even with all the wonderful opportunities given… we can sometimes be our own worst critic causing us to doubt the value we bring to the table. This virus has secretly plagued me for a while… but NOW the spell is broken!! I know my worth and struggle over the years to make great things happen. My little photo service is really picking up and I’m just as happy as a kid in a candy store. #Grateful
NOTE: The increase in business leaves me very little time to keep up with the blog… but I’m still adding a few post at a time to keep YOU in the loop. 🙂
OK, so back to the fabulous events…
The day started at Clark Atlanta University for a screening of WGN’s new series UNDERGROUND starring actors Jurnee Smollett Bell, Aldis Hodge, Mykelti Williamson and executively produced by John Legend! Y’all… Jurnee visited the campus and was on fire! She ran into theater with such excitement I couldn’t even get the shot. LOL! She is beautiful from the inside out… and so is her brother Jussie 🙂
The TV show is an explosive look into the Underground Railroad and portrays those who made huge sacrifices to see “freedom ring” and those who did everything to stop it. Be sure to tune in March 9!
…and then Taye Diggs and Chef Gavin was added to my goodie pot of photos for the Macy’s Black History Month celebration at Lenox Mall! Guest were treated to an awesome candid conversation about childhood memories, family lessons and well earned successes in the entertainment & food industry. Chef Gavin not only fed us with delicious bites.. but shared his wisdom and gratitude for his many blessings.
Can’t share the official photos but check out a few of my iphone pics 🙂
Sorry guys… but I was snapping pics & didn’t get a chance to really listen to the panel. But I DID get a clip of Taye Diggs and Shane W. Evans leading the audience in a song about “loving the sweet inside”… after the reading of their new children’s book “Chocolate Me” … illustrated by the super talented Shane and in stores NOW!
Check out my little clip:
Special thanks goes out to my wonderful Macy’s team and the lovely ladies at THA for this opportunity 🙂
