Last night, I covered the #ATLFF2016 “Jean of the Joneses” screening and red carpet with director Stella Mehgie, cast members Sherri Shepherd, Taylour Paige, Erica Ash and a surprise visit from actor Malik Yoba! Kudos to the Atlanta Film Festival as they close with a BANG!
The Atlanta Film Festival began on Friday, April 1, 2016 and will conclude on Sunday, April 10, 2016. Sunday’s programming schedule will include several Encore presentations, Creative Conferences and Marquee screenings.
Canadian born Stella Meghie returns to ATLFF with the 2011 winner of the fest’s Screenplay Competition, JEAN OF THE JONESES. Meghie assembled a star-studded cast to bring the screenplay to life. The feature revolves around the troubled Jones family, one of whom dies at the start of the movie. When the paramedic who answers their 911 call falls for rambunctious Jean, the courtship goes south during a calamitous Jones funeral.
I was able to sit & watch the film and I must say…. “BRAVO to these ladies for a job well done!” This feature was my first introduction to Taylour Paige who plays “Jean” in the film. I loved her natural beauty and since of innocence. Sherri Shepherd and Erica Ash (Survivors Remorse) of course added what they do best… humor that almost made my tummy hurt.
I was also shooting/covering for another outlet leaving me just a few pics for my blog. Check out some of the fun pics I snapped! Including my selfie 🙂
