I’ve been trying to visit the other side of town for quite some time… yesterday I finally made it to The Cockentrice at Krog Street Market for a cider-fueld meet and greet with the team behind Treehorn Cider and Chef Kevin Ouzts of The Cockentrice, The Spotted Trotter and Frankly.
Not only is the Krog Street Market a swanky little area but the dining options are limitless. Of course I was starving from a long day of shooting but tasty treats from Chef’s new Saloon Menu, which included The Spotted Trotter charcuterie and cheeses saved the day!
The highlight of the evening was a NEW craft hard cider known as Treehorn Cider based out of Georgia…. so I decided to break out of my “wine” bubble and try it. I was pleasantly surprised at the refreshing taste and as a bonus… I received a super cool history lesson from Jim Vorel of www.PasteMagazine.com. He explained that cider is the fastest growing segment of alcohol and this particular beverage is made from YEAST and apple cider. He summarized in saying… ” Yeast is a living organism that eats sugar and poops out alcohol” Lol! Love it! 🙂
Treehorn Cider is currently available on draft throughout Metro Atlanta, as well as Savannah, Athens, Rome, Macon, Valdosta, Cartersville and more. And with that… I truly enjoyed my short visit. Check out some of the fun pics I snapped. Sending a BIG thanks to Caren W PR for the invite.
