Fun night in Tampa!
My hubby and I recently took a quick trip to Tampa for a dinner party at the Oxford Exchange, a beautiful retail and dining center. It has a fascinating concept which is part gourmet tea shop, part artisan coffee bar, part restaurant, book store & gift shop.
The Oxford Exchange is a historic building, dating to about 1910 and it’s located in downtown Tampa. Picture this… vacant for decades, it was originally a horse stable. My mouth dropped open when I walked through the door. Owner Blake Casper and his sister Allison turned the place into a piece of art. Marble and brass, high ceilings and black-and-white checkered floors… a sight to see!
Another interesting fact… the 24,000-square-foot establishment serves only breakfast and lunch, with no alcohol. Our dinner party was specially arranged and guests were served an array of delicious bites (they only serve mini dishes/hors d’oeuvres) and desserts. Not being too sure of my next destination… made sure I ate plenty. 🙂 It was a wonderful experience and the establishment is absolutely gorgeous. I highly recommend stopping by if you live in or visit Tampa!
Didn’t get a chance to roam with my camera because my role for the evening was to be the good wife, not the photographer. But you know me… I managed to capture a couple of good pics. 🙂
