On February 6, 2014 Spelman College and the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) hosted The Wellness Revolution Summit 2014: Power Up! Leading researchers, innovative thinkers and women’s health and wellness advocates came together to share data on nutrition, physical activity and overall wellness.
I dropped off the kiddies at school and was able to attend the Opening Session moderated by Roland Martin, Host and Managing Editor, “News One Now with Roland Martin” TV One!
Beverly Daniel Tatum, Ph.D. President, Spelman College,
Alan E. Guttmacher, M.D. Director, Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development
Yvonne T. Maddox, Ph.D. Deputy Director, Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development
One message that truly reached me came from Yvonne T. Maddox who said, “A revolution needs believers”.
In 2012 Spelman College launched the Wellness Revolution initiative to empower and educate Spelman women and the world on the value and components of lifelong wellness.
Other sessions/presentations during the summit included Sleep Well, Power UP! The Brain and Body, Move More and Eat Better. Click HERE to learn more about The Wellness Revolution.
